A milestone reached with confirmation that the sale of Oak Lodge has been postponed.
On 27th November the CRVHS committee’s Michael, Lois and Barry met with the Premier’s Office.
CRVHS members and guests celebrated at a garden party fundraiser hosted at the historic Richmond home of Margaret and Henry Reynolds.
And on 1st December Blair Richards’ article in the Sunday Tasmanian told of significant progress in our campaign:
‘Premier Lara Giddings said on Friday the State Government had committed an additional $200000 to the National Trust for the current financial year on condition any sale be postponed until at least June 2014.
“The Government will also facilitate a meeting between the National Trust and the society to consider the business plan for Oak Lodge,” Ms Giddings said.
“The business plan has a number of options to secure the future of Oak Lodge and better position it to take advantage of Richmond’s burgeoning tourism market.” ‘
