Enter at Guard House/Main Entrance.  Free parking on parade ground – if boom gate allowing access to the parade ground is down press button and tell the ‘voice’ why you are there.  Vehicle exit at end of Junior Officers’ Quarters (down the hill).  Gate opens automatically.  Pedestrian exit best at Guard House (entry point).      Cost:  $5.00    RSVP:  Marilla Lowe 6260 2690 by Thursday 11 September.

12.00 Noon – Lunch at own expense in Cygnet.

02.00 pm  Arrive Channel Heritage Centre, Margate.  Afternoon Tea included. Small donation appreciated.
3.30 pm Depart Margate
4.30 pm approx.  Arrive Richmond Bus Station

Hear from Colette McAlpine about the last two convict women she tracked to 1930, about ways people can track convicts and the work of the Female Convict Research Centre. Then enjoy Marilla’s melting moments and other home made fare for afternoon tea.

09.45 am  Meet at the site for the 10.00 am Heritage Tour (includes Site Entry and Visitor Guide).  $15 per person ($10 concession holders and students) payable at the site.

Saturday 16 May 2015 – 2 pm:  Cecily Dougan at Oak Lodge
Cecily is author of ‘Pioneers, Ploughman and Pull-Shots: A Family’s Experience in Tasmania from 1808’ and was named the winner of the Lillian Watson Family History Award 2013 presented at the Tasmanian Family History Society AGM in June 2014.  Her book tells the story of the Morrisby, Lumsden and Schaedel families who settled in the Sandford area.
